Worthing offers you the pleasure of shopping in the largest town in West Sussex. Most of the centre is pedestrianised, allowing you to stroll comfortably into the many well-known stores. There are also three covered shopping centres. Worthing is also home to the unique Grade II* listed Dome Cinema.

Just 20 yards from the Avalon Guest House, the award-winning beaches stretch along 5 miles of promenade, bordered by many fine parks, floral displays, restaurants, pavement cafés and the Lido centre.

Also within easy walking distance is the Aquarena swimming complex, with an extensive outside children's paddling pool, and the English Bowling Association - host to the annual World Bowls championship week. Golf, tennis, go-karting and horse-riding are just some of the activities available locally.

Worthing is an ideal base from which to explore all of Sussex. Arundel and Chichester to the west offer the traditional characteristics of Sussex, whilst to the East, their is the City of Brighton, with all it has to offer, the ancient county town of Lewes, plus Eastbourne and Hastings. Gatwick Airport is also about half-an-hour's drive away.

You can take a day-trip to France from the nearby port of Newhaven, or, indeed, the Channel Tunnel, or use the Avalon Guest House as an overnight stop on your way to and from the continent.
